You milk the beast. You curdle the milk. You squeeze the curds. You wait. I once met a vegan who noted that Man, Alone among the animals, consumes another mammal's milk. How peculiar. I am a writer who also likes taking pictures, especially in the woods or in Italy. The subject of my fiction is 16th century Venice and the mythic roots of Commedia dell'Arte. Master of Fine Arts

Graduation at Southern New Hampshire University was last weekend. I am now a Master of the Fine Art of writing. You may call me maestra. My first book, Feathers of a Lion, is done. More or less. The MFA thesis is done, and I have my degree. There are more tweaks to make as I start looking for an agent. For the thesis, I was restricted to a maximum of 75,000 words, which is on the big side for most debut novels but frankly short for historical fantasy. Another Use for DA

I got a new computer back in December. In order to try and sell the old one, I placed all my documents and photos on Dropbox and deleted them from the old computer. But recently when I've gone to look for pictures I thought were saved out there in Cloud Cuckoo-Land, I find most of them have vanished. Then I remembered I have a lot of them right here. Now I'm downloading all my own pictures from DA.
